Using the scales whilst cooking

Did you know that you can tempoarily halt the cooking process to use the scales without affecting the preset cooking functions.  Whilst cooking, simply turn the speed control to off (unlocked lid) and press the scale button.  When you have finished using the scale, turn the speed control back to the speed you were previously using and cooking will continue where it left off!
